Youth Strings Invitational

Participating Programs

Music Makers Haciendo Música, El Sistema Colorado (Denver), Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra, Battle Mountain High School, Berry Creek Middle School and regional music-affiliates. For information on how to participate please email Education@BravoVail.org.

Event Highlights

• Collaborative rehearsals and ensemble performances for students & community;
• Special social activity;
• Professional development opportunities for organization teachers;
• Guest Artist performance and workshop. 

Chaperones from each participating organization will lead students through the weekend of workshops, rehearsals, training, and more. Music selections will be prepared in advance of Invitational.

Meals & Lodging

• Meals included in in the invitational include: Friday lunch & dinner, Saturday breakfast & lunch;
• Special lodging rates available at Christie Lodge. Discount codes will be released upon registration approval. Rates from $33-$50 per person based on occupancy. Students should be traveling with their program chaperone or a parent/guardian that will transport them as needed and stay overnight.

Registration & Fees

• $125 per student (includes meals, t-shirt, participation, and all activities);
• Financial assistance available. No student shall be denied access due to financial constraints.

Timeline

• December 15 | Registration opens 
• January 15 | Registration and Financial Aid Requests Close
• March 15 | All payments due
• March 31 | Last day to request refunds

How To Apply

Violin, viola, cello and bass students, ages 13 -18, can apply beginning December 15 by filling out individual application with parental approval.

Students should be able to read music anywhere in the range of at least up to 1- 3 sharps and/or 1- 3 flats and have prior experience playing in an ensemble.
